The Visual Arts Committee is asking for art donations from our local artists. We have the pails and tiles to auction off and we would love to have art work to round out the auction. We would appreciate anything, prints, matted not frame pieces, 3d work, or even an original that you have had for a long time. (most of us have old pieces we don't show anymore) The art will be on display from June the 10 thro the 25th. Patrons can place bids anytime while it is on display. It will cost $15 to get into the reception but if you donated a piece you can come to the reception for free. US bank is having it catered and there will be live music. The money raised is not part of the Arts Fund Drive. This revenue is going to support the programs for Allied Arts. Artists in the schools for example. This should be a fun evening and a great benefit for the arts. If you would like to donate please bring you piece, finished tile or pail,to the Allied Arts Council office by the 9th. I hope to see as many artists at the reception as possible. If you have any questions call Tammy at 816-233-0231 or me at 660-663-2446. I attended the Manuscript Illumination workshop last summer and thoroughly enjoyed it. The instructor, Jed Gibbons, was excellent. The Early Byzantine Iconography workshop will be quite good as well- it's being taught by the founder of the Prosopon School of Iconography, Master Iconographer Vladislov Andreyev. These are unique opportunities to study traditional painting techniques close by in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Hope to see you there!

-Lisa F.

Call For Creative Artist "Art Pailet" 2009

Calling All creative artists!
Allied Arts Council has an art challenge for you!
Create a fun piece of art using this pail or wood tile.
